The Qualities of the Prophet (peace be upon him): A Research Review in the Light of the Interpretation of the Holy Quran (Hafiz Abdul Salam Bhatvi)

Abstract

This research study presents an analytical review of the Khasais-e-Mustafa ﷺ (the distinctive attributes of the Holy Prophet ﷺ) in the light of the Qur’anic exegesis. The term Khasais-e-Mustafa ﷺ refers to those unique qualities and characteristics that Allah Almighty granted exclusively to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, distinguishing him from all other prophets and human beings. Based on classical and contemporary exegetical sources, this paper highlights the aspects of the Qur’an that emphasize his exalted status of Prophethood, Maqam-e-Mahmood (the Praiseworthy Station), infallibility, intercession, and his role as Rahmat-ul-lil-Alameen (Mercy for all the worlds). This research not only elucidates the Prophet’s ﷺ elevated position within Islamic scholarship but also provides practical and intellectual guidance for the Muslim Ummah.
