Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering BAHISEEN Arabic & Islamic Studies Research Journal as a potential publication venue for your scholarly work. To ensure that your submission meets our standards for publication, please follow the author guidelines below:

  1. Submission requirements:
  • Manuscripts must be written in English, Arabic or Urdu.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • Articles should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words in length, inclusive of references, tables, and figures.
  • Submissions must include an abstract of no more than 250 words, keywords, and a brief biographical note about the author(s).
  • Figures and tables should be included in the manuscript file in their appropriate positions.
  • All references should be listed at the end of the manuscript following the APA style.
  1. Formatting:
  • Manuscripts should be formatted in 12-point Times New Roman font and double-spaced throughout.
  • Use Arabic script for Arabic words and transliterate Arabic words in the text as per the IJMES transliteration system.
  • Use British English spellings and punctuation.
  • Use footnotes rather than endnotes.
  • Use the APA citation style.
  1. Ethical considerations:
  • All submitted articles must be original and not previously published or under review elsewhere.
  • All research must comply with relevant ethical guidelines and regulations.
  • Proper citation and attribution of sources must be provided for any materials used in the article.
  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may have influenced their research or its interpretation.
  1. Review process:
  • All submissions undergo a rigorous peer review process by experts in the relevant field.
  • The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks, and authors will be notified of the outcome of the review.
  • Final decisions on whether to accept or reject an article for publication are made by the editor-in-chief.
