Abstract

This article examines Imam Yahya bin Salam's (d. 200 AH) approach to utilizing Hadith in his Tafsir.  His work, Tafsir Yahya bin Salam, holds a significant place in early Tafsir literature and notably uses Hadith to explain Quranic verses.

This study will analyze his methodology in selecting, authenticating, and interpreting Hadith, assessing its impact on subsequent Tafsir development and highlighting his contribution to preserving and transmitting Hadith within the early Islamic scholarly tradition. My work aims to understand how Imam Yahya navigated the intersection of Quranic exegesis and Hadithic tradition, contributing to a deeper understanding of his Tafsir and its lasting influence.
