Abstract

Social media has revolutionized communication in the modern era, offering instant access to information, education, and social connectivity. However, its negative impacts necessitate cautious usage. The Islamic Ideological Council's 1977 guidelines for mass media remain relevant in today's social media landscape, emphasizing the need for its use by Islamic values and ethics. Education, training, and awareness campaigns are crucial to inform people about the positive and negative aspects of social media. Understanding its benefits and drawbacks is essential, recognizing it not just as a source of entertainment but also as a social responsibility. Developing critical thinking skills to analyze information and distinguish between accurate and false content is vital to avoid deception. Ultimately, a balanced approach to social media is necessary to maximize its benefits while minimizing its harm.
