Foundations of Islamic Society in the Makkah Period of Khatam-ul- Nabiyyin Muhammad (PBUH): An Analytical Study

Abstract

All praises be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad (SAW), his Ummah and companions.

The religion of Islam is always the soul of society and everywhere.  Before the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, society was in a state like a forest, where the strong devoured the weak.  They had no leader to guide them on the right path.  Human abilities were scattered and became a waste for themselves and the whole society.

Courage had turned into cruelty and brutality.  Intelligence was being used in deception.  Reason has become a means of increasing human crimes and gratifying animal desires.  In short, there were no notable virtues left.  Goodness had turned into evil, hearts and minds were blinded from the path of truth.

This was the societal picture that reflects the society of ignorance. In such a situation, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) implemented such rules and regulations which were suitable for every time and place.  As a result, society became better and better.  Individuals and society felt their identity, respect, and importance.  They became conscious of their reality and their presence in the world.  From this consciousness, a new Islamic society came into being, which dominated the world as a whole under the shadow of Islam, East and West, North and South at all directions.

 Islamic society is dominated by the spirit of Islam and its members, irrespective of their religion, cooperate to ensure the welfare of society.
